Our 6th Grade Student Council members will be hosting a drive to help families whose children are in the hospital. The Ronald McDonald House is a place for families to stay close to their hospitalized child. They provide essentials for families, so the families can focus on what is important- their child! If you are able to donate, please send with your child or drop off at WES. January 26-February 13, 2026.
Tanner Smith, one of the stars of Netflix's Love on the Spectrum, sends positivity to our WES Students and Staff.
WES is celebrating Dot Day in a big way. Inspired by Peter Reynolds' book 'The Dot,' students have been practicing positive self talk and encouraging others. September's focus trait is Courage. Our students have the courage to step up in many situations and do the right thing. They have the courage to take the first step in a big challenge or a new experience.

Purdue University planned and provided an amazing day on Saturday for students around the state. Ten JGSC girls were able to visit science labs and buildings around campus. They saw so many exciting things from drones and lasers, to liquid nitrogen and seeing a moon rock and flying aircraft. The girls also got to meet and hang out with 3 female aerospace engineering students. They asked amazing questions!
Saturday students were up bright and early for Space Day. They heard from 2 former astronauts before being whisked away to participate in 3 different hands on STEM challenge sessions
Thank you to the parents who helped chaperone, and who had a fun time shopping and hanging out, too.
Thank you to our local fire department for hosting our kindergarten students for an interesting walking field trip. Thank you to Polk Township Crew who visited WES to talk to students about fire safety. We have some budding firefighters here!
